Fractional Head of Business Development

A senior head of BD for tech and expertise-led companies – part-time or full-time, for 6 to 18 months. Based in Vilnius, Lithuania, and happy to work remotely.

A fractional head of business development is a senior BD leader who joins your team for as long as you need. You get someone who has already built markets, products and sales teams – without the cost and risk of a permanent executive hire.

How we can work together

01

Fractional CBDO / Head of BD

Your head of business development, part-time or full-time.

6–18 months
02

Growth sprint

One focused challenge: market, offer or sales process.

2–4 months
03

Strategic advisory

One decision that benefits from an outside view.

2–4 sessions

When it makes sense

  • You have a product or proven expertise and your first clients, but revenue isn't growing predictably.
  • The founder or CEO is still carrying sales alone, and nobody owns market, product and sales as one system.
  • You want to enter a new market or vertical and need decisions grounded in evidence.
  • A permanent head of BD would be too early or too expensive – but the work can't wait.

What I own

  • Market: one primary niche and two secondary ones, the ICP and customer pains, and a “what we don't do” list. I start from what you already have – your client base, the projects that worked and those that didn't, and your team's strengths. We test the strongest options in customer conversations, and you make the final call with your leadership team in strategy sessions.
  • Product: market response from real customer conversations shapes the roadmap, along with pricing, pitch and demo. I run pilot sales with real prospects and measure their commitment, not just their interest. Your team builds the product; I help you decide when it's ready to go to market.
  • Sales: a team with targets and metrics, B2B campaigns, a CRM pipeline, a weekly rhythm and the first contracts. I help hire and onboard the team, plan every campaign around a clear ICP, value proposition and channels, and run daily and weekly stand-ups. I close the first deals alongside the team and mentor it until it runs on its own.

Track record

20+ years in business. As a founder, I helped turn a basketball information platform into a solution FIBA recognised as the global standard. The company became part of Genius Sports, where I grew a technology centre in Vilnius from 5 to 120 people and signed 50+ contracts with federations and leagues in 25+ countries. I went on to lead a 50+ person unit at a technology company, and today I work as a fractional BD consultant with companies building AI solutions.
